This month we are joined in the attic by Irish poet Katie Donovan, who talks to us about her career as a writer. She also reads some poems from her latest poetry collection Off Duty (Bloodaxe, 2016).

We are joined by the women behind Ireland’s first taught residential writing workshop, Margaret O’Brien and Nollaig Brennan.
The Story House has been in existence since 2014 and is modelled on the UK’s Arvon Foundation. We talk about how it came about and what the experience of attending a Story House course is like.
This month Nessa is reporting on her stay at the amazing surroundings of Cill Rialaig Artists Retreat on Bolus Head in County Kerry.
She speaks with the other writers staying there, Louise Callaghan, Kate Kavanagh, Martin Malone, Dairina Ni Chinneide, Sydney Weinberg and Adam Wyeth. Special thanks to the Irish Writers Centre and the Cill Rialaig Project for their support of Nessa’s residency.
